Do Plzně se po pěti letech na jaře 2025 vrátí nejvyšší soutěž amerického fotbalu v ČR. Klub v minulém týdnu odeslal závaznou přihlášku, na kterou získal právo vítězstvím loňského ročníku II.ligy. Spolu s Pilsen Patriots se nejvyšší soutěže účastní týmy ISMM Ostrava Steelers, Nitra Knights, Přerov Mammoths, ST.NICOLAUS Bratislava Monarchs, Vysočina Gladiators a Znojmo Knights. O formátu soutěže a termínech zápasů bude teprve rozhodnuto. Termín prvního kola je o víkendu 22.-23.3. 2025, Czechbowl se uskuteční v červenci.

The highest competition of American football in the Czech Republic will return to Plzeň after five years in the spring of 2025. The club sent a binding application last week, which it won the right to do by winning last year's II.Liga. Along with the Pilsen Patriots, the ISMM Ostrava Steelers, Nitra Knights, Přerov Mammoths, ST.NICOLAUS Bratislava Monarchs, Vysočina Gladiators and Znojmo Knights will participate in the top competition. The format of the competition and the dates of the matches are yet to be decided. The date of the first round is the weekend of 22-23 March 2025, Czechbowl will take place in July.
"Pro klub je to velký závazek. Od podpisu kouče Williama Sturgise jsme na první ligu mysleli. Nechceme se jen zúčastnit, ale chceme hrát v lize důstojnou roli, etablovat se v ní a v blízké budoucnosti mít ty nejvyšší cíle. Se samotnou účastí je spojena spousta povinností. Areál v Bukovci nesplňuje totiž všechny parametry prvoligového hřiště. Ať už jde o rozměry hřiště, zázemí pro diváky či mužstva. V současné době proto hledáme a jednáme o "hostování" na hřištích v Plzni a nejbližším okolí. Je dosti možné, že v Bukovci uspořádáme pouze první a poslední domácí zápas sezony. Vidíme v tom šanci ukázat tuto skvělou hru prakticky po celé Plzni. Dalším důležitým bodem jsou finance. Proto bych rád poděkoval naším partnerům, bez jejichž pomoci bychom mohli o první lize jenom snít." říká předseda klubu Libor Kurfirst

We don't just want to participate, we want to play a decent role in the league, establish ourselves in the league and have the highest goals in the near future. There are a lot of responsibilities that come with participation. The venue in Bukovec does not meet all the parameters of a first league pitch. Whether it is the size of the pitch, facilities for spectators or teams. Therefore, we are currently looking for and negotiating about "hosting" on the pitches in Pilsen and the nearest surroundings. It is quite possible that in Bukovac we will organize only the first and last home game of the season. We see it as a chance to show this great game practically all over Pilsen. Z účasti v první lize je pochopitelně nadšený take trenér William Sturgis:"První liga byla nastavena jako cíl organizace od té doby, co jsme se setkali. Prvním krokem k tomu bylo podepsání smlouvy do sezony 2034. Klub si velmi dobře uvědomoval, že vytvoření dlouhodobého trenéra, který by rozvíjel kulturu a organizaci, je něco velmi důležitého. Kultura již byla nastavena, takže děláme věci na hřišti i mimo něj a doufáme, že se kádr rozroste o podobně smýšlející jedince, kteří berou hru vážně a chtějí tvořit historii a rozvíjet nově nalezenou tradici zde v Plzni. Z první ligy jsem nadmíru nadšený, je to něco, co jsem si předsevzal, když jsem přišel. Všichni si mysleli, že jsem se zbláznil, protože před mým příchodem se tým čtyři roky snažil dostat do play-off 2. ligy. Ale já jsem vždy věřil ve schopnost vypěstovat vysoce konkurenceschopný tým a rozvíjet kulturu. Díval jsem se na výzvy jako na příležitosti a nikdy jsem si nenechal stanovit cíle, které by byly nedosažitelné, a tato změna s týmem nastala velmi brzy a my jsme šokovali ligu naší proměnou.Nemohu se dočkat, až budeme ligu šokovat i naší účastí v první lize.Nic však nepřijde snadno.Tým, zaměstnanci i představenstvo si jsou dobře vědomi výzev a úsilí, které nás čeká.Tuto výzvu však vítáme a plně věříme, že můžeme v první lize udělat obrovský rozruch a bojovat v každém zápase o dosažení našich cílů.Klub za poslední dva roky ušel dlouhou cestu a nic nenasvědčuje tomu, že bychom měli zpomalit.Každý trénink, filmovou studii a zápas musíme Earn It!"
Naturally, coach William Sturgis is also excited about the participation in the first league."First league has been set on the organization minds since we met. First step of this was signing me through the 2034 season. The organization saw that establishing a long term coach to grow the culture and organization was something that was most important. The culture has already been set in so we are doing things on and off the field and hoping to grow the roster with like minded individuals who take the game seriously and wishing to make the history and grow the new found tradition here in Pilsen. I am beyond excited about the first league it is something that I had my eyes set on when I arrived. Everyone thought I was crazy because before I arrived the team has struggled to make playoffs in 2nd league for 4 years before my arrival. But I have always trusted in the ability of growing a highly competitive team and growing the culture. I looked at challenges as opportunities and never let goals be to big to reach and that change with the team happened very early and we shocked the league with our turn around. I cannot wait to shock the league with our presence in the Snapback league as well. But nothing will come easy. The team, the staff, and the board are well aware of the challenges and the effort we have ahead. But we welcome the challenge and fully believe we can make a huge splash in the first league and compete every game to achieve our goals. The club has gone a long way these past two years and their is no sign of us slowing down. Every training, film study and game we have to Earn It!"
Pro splnění cílů je třeba také vhodně doplnit mužstvo. Několik hráčů v klubu končí, někteří si na první ligu bohužel nevěří, jiní zase z věkových důvodů. Soupiska se tak oproti loňskému roku určitě promění. Po celé září probíhaly nábory, již za týden se v neděli uskuteční první tryout. O definitivní podobě kádru ještě samozřejmě není rozhodnuto, máme ale radost, ze vám můžeme představit dohodnuté posily z USA.

Unfortunately, several players are leaving the club, some don't believe in the first league, others are leaving due to age reasons. The roster will definitely change compared to last year. Recruitments have been going on throughout September, and the first tryout will take place in a week on Sunday. Do každého týmu, ve kterým hraji, přináším svou energii. Věřím, že se mám bavit a zároveň se starat o své věci. Můj švih je švih chladnokrevného lovce hlav. Je mi vlastní styl Trenta Williamse, ve čtvrté čtvrtině se stávám démonem. Chci, aby se soupeři báli našeho útoku Do Patriots jsem se dostal díky stránce europlayers.. Trenérovi Levimu se líbilo co na mém profilu viděl, a oslovil mě. Udělal si průzkum a cítil, že se k sobě prostě hodíme. Moje očekávání je, že se s Patrioty zapíšu do historie. Tvrdě dřít a dostat se do play-off, v něm pak tlačit na vítězství v šampionátu. Těším se, že budu v nové zemi a budu poznávat její kulturu a lidi. Věřím, že ať už se vydám kamkoli, budu si navždy vytvářet vzpomínky. Mám také v plánu předat své znalosti hry dalším tamním linemanům a vytvořit tak celou novou vlnu technicky zdatných českých linemanů. Fanoušci Pilsen Patriots, je mi opravdu ctí být součástí tak skvělé organizace. Chtěl bych poděkovat trenéru Levimu a celému týmu, že do mě vložili důvěru a dali mi tuto příležitost. Mám v plánu pomoci přivést do Plzně mistrovský tým 1. ligy a zapsat se do historie. Jsem nadšený, že vám mohu přinést své znalosti a vášeň a v každém zápase předvést co nejlepší výkon.
I bring my energy to any team I play with . I believe in having fun while taking care of business. My swagger is that of a cold head hunter. Trent Williams style of play demon time all 4 quarters . I want our opponents to fear our offense. I was fortunate enough to have a euro players page with my film attached . Coach Levi liked what he saw and reached out. Did my research loved what the team was building and felt we just fit together. My expectations is to make history with the patriots. Grind hard and get to the playoffs reset and push for a championship win. I look forward to being in a new country taking in the culture getting to know the people. I believe in making forever memories wherever I go. I also plan to pass my knowledge of the game onto other lineman there and making a whole new wave of technically sound Czech lineman. Pilsen Patriots fans, it´s truly an honor to be apart of such a great organisation. I want to thank coach Levi and the staff for putting there faith in me and giving me this opportunity. I plan on helping to bring a League 1 championschip to Pilsen and making history. I´m excited to bring my knowledge and passion to you guys and perform at my best every game.

Je mi 23 let a hraji obrannou linii, fotbal jsem hrál od svých pěti let a hrál jsem na všech pozicích na hřišti, což mi dalo možnost vidět aspekty obou stran míče, což nemá mnoho lidí to potěšení vědět. Věřím, že moje znalosti hry a vysoká motorika jsou věci, které mohu přinést, budu se snažit implementovat věci do obranné linie, abychom se na ně ve čtvrté čtvrtině, až bude ta útočná linie skloněná s rukama v bok, mohli podívat a říct si, že jsme zase připraveni jít do toho. Jak k dohodě došlo, bylo to tak, že jsem byl jednoho dne na Europlayers a trenér Levi se podíval na můj profil a shlédl můj film a kontaktoval mě, abych si ho přidal na instagram a od té doby jsme si jen povídali a snažili se zjistit, jestli jsem ten správný člověk pro tým, a naštěstí jsem byl. Chtěl bych říct jednu věc: jsem moc vděčný za trenérský tým a spoluhráče, které jsem zatím potkal, protože jsou úžasní, a také za to, že mi dali tuhle příležitost, protože je to něco, o čem jsem vždycky snil! Očekávám, že já a moji spoluhráči necháme na hřišti všechno, co v nás je, a pokud to dokážeme, pak přijdou i výhry, chci, aby týmy věděly, kdo jsou Pilsen Patriots, a bály se toho jména. Také chci, aby komunita věděla, kdo jsme, takže se budu snažit vracet komunitě věci tím, že budu dělat takové věci, aby lidé věděli, kdo jsme, a chtěli nás přijít podpořit. Kromě toho všeho chci jen říct, že se nemůžu dočkat, až se tam dostanu a začnu trénovat a uvidím další kus světa!!!
I am 23 years old and I Play Defensive line, I have played football since I was 5, and played ever position on the field, which has given me the ability to see the aspects of both sides of the ball, which not a lot of people have the pleasure of knowing. I believe that my knowledge of the game and my high motor are things that I can bring to the table, I will try to implement things on the defensive line so that in the 4th quarter when that offensive line is bent over hands on hips, we can look at them and say are yall ready to go again. How the deal came was I was on Europlayers one day and Coach Levi looked at my profile and watched my film and he contact me to add him in instagram and from there we just talked and tried to figure out if I was the right guy for the team and thankfully I was. One thing I would like to say is that I am so thankful for the coaching staff and team mates that I have met so far cause they are amazing, also for giving me this opportunity as it something that I have always dreamed about! My expectations are that my teammates and I leave everything we got on the field, if we do that then the wins will follow, I want teams to know who the Pilsen Patriots are and fear that name. I also want to bring the community to know who we are so I will be trying to give back to the community by doing things so that people know who we are and want to come support us. Other than all that, I just want to say I can’t wait to get up there to start training and seeing another part of the world!!
